Trial Offers Hope for Child Cancer Sufferers

Neuroblastoma is a form of cancer affecting about 100 children each year in the United Kingdom. For about half of these children this cancer is aggressive and very difficult to treat.

Often times, if the patient relapses, many families will venture abroad to receive treatment. Fortunately, for these families, the University of Southampton is now conducting the first transatlantic trial for the disease. This initiative aims to improve survival rates as well as help those affected receive treatment close to home.
